{re}think your stationery.
Simple, sustainable, and consciously crafted from recycled coffee cups.
Genuinely Sustainable.
The United Nations defines sustainability as 'meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.' This is our baseline.
At Coffeenotes, we don't just rely on standard eco-labels. We interrogate every raw material, challenge traditional manufacturing processes, and design our products to minimise their impact on the planet from cover to core.
The 2.5 Billion Cup Problem.
Every year in the UK, 2.5 billion coffee cups are thrown away. Because of their tightly bonded polyethylene coating, they rarely reach a recycling plant, causing massive plastic pollution.
Using the innovative CupCycling™ process, cups are rescued from landfill. 95% of the cup waste is converted into our bespoke, luxury writing paper. The remaining 5% (the plastic lining) is stripped and recovered for energy. The result is zero waste to landfill.
No Hidden Plastics. No Compromises.
Most mass-produced stationery relies on hidden laminates, glues, and synthetic coatings that render them unrecyclable. We design differently.
-
The Production
Plastic, laminate, elastic, and foil-free. Produced using a completely carbon-neutral manufacturing process, balanced through the World Land Trust.
-
The Covers
Made in UK and European mills using repurposed waste from the food, drink, and textile industries.
-
The Binding
Traditional, uncoated metal wire. Completely free from the standard nylon plastic coating, ensuring it can be easily removed and 100% recycled in household waste.
A Family Mission in Dorset.
Founded by Mark and Sarah Downey, Coffeenotes was born from a family print business established in 1991. Passionate about waste reduction, the pandemic provided the pause needed to research, develop, and engineer a circular stationery brand.
Today, every Coffeenotes product is printed, bound, and hand-finished in our Dorset factory.
